The Cabinet

I came to Sweden on 17th February. Facebook has found it as a nice moment to remind me that just four years ago on the same date, I have visited one of the northern European countries for the first time, Finland. County which we can be grateful for giving us the famous Nokia 3310, a legend of my teenage days. On that one, you could compose your own ringtone by entering codes. So one time I had the Simpsons theme on it.

What I was mostly warned about coming to Stockholm is that finding a room or apartment is a hard job. Accommodation is very hard to find because there is no many and prices are high. Main reason is that lot of people are coming here for a work, some people buy their own apartment while having an occupancy right for a state apartment while they rent state-owned one. Under this heavenly cap, I’ve never had a property nor my parents so uncertainty and the possibility of moving to another apartment and living in accommodation that is not by your will does not fall hard on my shoulders. A rough life that I have ever had prepared me for anything.

It is better to be born without “those” things then without luck, said a title of book written byArijana Culina and I remember it because it’s true. My accomodation was found by friend Dinko Lubin, known as Man of Stone – because he comes from the island. Together we passed through the joys and sorrows of student life and somewhere, somehow and at some the point he grew from a colleague in a friend. He told me that he found me an accommodation. The room popularly called a closet. It is a small room, has no window, but it is good for the first two, two three months until you settle down. When Dinko says it, I’ve no doubt. I’m not in Sweden to go to see the rooms, I do not have a Swedish phone number or recommendation from a former tenant – all this is necessary to independently find something else so I accepted Dinko’s offer and officially became a tenant of the closet. There is also room popularly called box, it does not have walls, but the panels that separate it from the hallway, but hey, there’s a window! But let its tenant to write about it.

On 19th February, In the early evening hours, I moved into the room. Dimensions rooms can be found in a song of Snezana Djurisic, but I more prefer version of Let 3 that I leave you one bottom of this post.

Let’s start with pictures slowly.

The first picture is a picture presents room from two opposite corners while I was a photographer standing in the intersection point of room diagonals.

The room has no window, which means if there is no clock in the room, you really do not know the time of day. How much does a windows means, ha? The lack of windows still gives you a possibility. Absolute control over the time of day in your room. The Closet is an example of the relative space-time dimension.

I hope you notice that in the closet “Sun” rises on one, and goes down on the opposite side. We take care that the simulation is as close to the real system.

Activities in the closet

Room offers a variety of opportunities for man. From a serious work, relaxation, exercise to entertainment. Let’s see 🙂

1. Online learning – the rooms have access to WiFi with 1/1 speed downloading and uploading content.
2. Great Jobs – Big Business. Meetings with investors and business partners. You can always check your appearance in the mirror, which is right next to your table.
3. In the cabinet, there is a traveling exhibition “Decoration stuff” of famous Swedish artist Ikea. This is part of the cultural program offered by the cabinet, and long-term tenants receive marker in order to play a game – trying to find differences between this two pictures.
4. Programs from around the world are available on the multifunction device called notebook. Spend the evening with your favorite TV program.
5. Meditation at the intersection point of the room diagonals, the of the center room, improves connecting with your inner self and room. Double connection!
6. A healthy life is IN. Room offers strength training through sit-ups and push-ups, as well as cardio workouts in the form of running in the same place with moving images on a multifunctional device (Notebook). If you bring a pot of boiling water room turns into a sauna and thus expelling toxins from your body after exercise.
7. Relaxation is possible by reading your favorite literature from a modest, but diverse cabinet library: Lemmy – autobiography, HTML5 and CSS3 – flexible web design, George Orwell – Animal Farm and 1984 – 2in1! (Thanks Ranka on loan for the purposes of the library “Cabinet”). The lamp is under perfect angle for enjoyment in reading and uniform distribution of light and plus it has chainlet to shut it down.

Special add ones in cabinet

1. Multipurpose hangers – on it you can dangle your jacket and the jacket’s of small number of visitor (intentionally singular because only two persons fit in the room), it is possible to dangle towels from the bathroom so they make the air in a room more humid. It is possible to dangle shopping bags in which you usually carry carry food containers. In this way the room always smells of local cuisine and returns a smile on every face.
2. Travel bag = dirty laundry basket. At the bottom of your feet is a travel bag in which to leave the dirty laundry. On the side near you, you put up all white, and the part next to the wall, black clothes. The bag allows that in moments of bringing underwear on washing you do it with a style that attracts jealous glances of your roommate.

Security in the closet

When we think of Sweden, we think of the standard. Cabinet disposes high standards of security which not many hotel rooms can boast with. The cabinet is equipped with emergency exits in case of danger. The exit is near the bed so the guest of the closet could as quickly as possible run out of trouble that befalls him. Entertaining events in the closet

Closet on Friday and Saturday is visited by DJ, The King of the House that on its mixing console plays hits that force you to dance together with the overall audience. Last weekend in the closet we got now record in visitors numbers and now it is 5 persons!

With this post, crazy party and song I made a farewell ritual to a room that changed my view of the amount of space and organization. Swedish minimalism in <3 .
